This policy explains how Clear Drainage Ltd, trading as Clear Drainage, uses cookies and similar technologies on clear-drainage.co.uk, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our privacy policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage and scripts that read information from your device, work in a comparable way. In this policy we call them all “cookies”.
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, we must tell you about the cookies we use and, unless an exception applies, ask for your consent before setting them.
2. How we use cookies
We use two kinds of cookies:
- Strictly necessary: these are needed for the site to work or to do something you have asked for, such as remembering your cookie choice. They do not need your consent.
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are visited, how people found us and whether pages load properly. This helps us improve the site. We only set these cookies if you click “Accept” in our cookie banner.
We do not use advertising, marketing or social media tracking cookies. We have switched off Google’s advertising features, including Google signals and ad personalisation, for this website.

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may also set strictly necessary security cookies, such as __cf_bm, to tell genuine
visitors apart from automated traffic and protect the site from attack. These are short lived and are not used for analytics or
advertising.
4. About Google Analytics
Google Analytics is provided by Google. When you accept analytics cookies, your browser sends Google information such as the pages you visit, how long you spend on them, the website that referred you, your approximate location (based on your IP address, which Google Analytics does not store), and your device, browser and screen size. Google processes this on our behalf and gives us reports. We cannot use these reports to identify you.
Google may process this information outside the UK, including in the United States. See section 8 of our privacy policy for how international transfers are protected, and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
5. Accepting, rejecting and changing your choice
When you first visit the site, we ask whether you accept analytics cookies. Rejecting them is as easy as accepting, and the site works in exactly the same way either way. We remember your choice for 12 months and then ask again.
You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page, or the button below. If you withdraw consent, we stop Google Analytics and delete its cookies from your browser.
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how the site works.
6. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy if we change the cookies we use. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
